In this blog post, we get to know Lauren, who joins our Interpreting Operations team. As part of her day to day role, Lauren helps to source appropriate linguists for our public sector customer bookings.
Why did you join Capita?
I joined Capita TI as I knew Capita was a well-known company and the Service Delivery Coordinator vacancy seemed an interesting job role.
What’s your background?
I’ve previously worked in call centres and enjoy working in customer services roles to meet customers’ needs.
Why did you want to work in the language industry?
I wanted to work in the language industry so that I can develop new skills and challenges – it’s different to any other industry I’ve worked in, but I enjoy a challenge.
What would you consider to be your biggest professional success?
Since I left school, I’ve always been in full-time employment and enjoyed what I do.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I see myself working towards as highly in the company as possible – I’m very ambitious and would like to broaden my skills and knowledge.
What makes you get out of bed in the morning?
Knowing that I am going to be helping clients and interpreters with their day to day schedules, and ensuring that everything goes smoothly for an interpreter booking – whether it is at a police station, a doctor’s appointment or a health visit.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Shopping, seeing friends and family and walking my dog.
Who inspires you?
My family inspire me, as they are always there for me and supporting me no matter what.
