Day one of Going Global

As the first day of Going Global comes to a close you can feel that buzz of activity as exhibitors demonstrate to businesses how they can take initiative and succeed in the international business arena. The event, supported by UKTI, runs seminars, workshops and networking events to aid businesses that are looking to go global and is an event worth attending to get fresh ideas and professional advice in every aspect of internationalisation.

The main take away from this informative seminar is that professional translators are fundamental to succeeding in a demanding and competitive global environment

Paul Wilson, Chief Executive of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting started the morning off with a presentation highlighting 20 reasons why businesses looking to internationalise need professional translators. The main take away from this informative seminar is that professional translators are fundamental to succeeding in a demanding and competitive global environment. Without them, the message you are trying to convey could literally get lost in translation! Our very own Managing Director, Kevin Gordon, also gave a seminar at 2pm on “International Outsourcing” , informing businesses of the benefits of outsourcing translation requirements in their quest to internationalise.

It is clear to see from an event like Going Global Live that businesses are becoming more global in their thinking and planning. Translation and Interpreting services are vital for any business thinking of internationalising and companies from a diverse range of sectors are coming to the Capita TI stand to find out how we can assist them in making their message and company visible across numerous different languages. With a range of services available, we can help companies from every sector communicate to customers in their local language and through their preferred method.

My main take away from exhibiting at an event is to wear flat shoes and to stay away from all the sweets on offer!

The exhibitors here are helping businesses export, enter, grow and become financially viable in global markets. These are key stages for a business to grow globally, and the backbone to these things happening successfully is to have material and processes localised for each country you are planning to enter.

Our Capita Buzzwire game at our stand is attracting competitive visitors and exhibitors alike in their goal to win a Google Chromecast. Currently the time to beat is in the region of 33 seconds, but I am confident that as the day wears on, more and more people will become determined to beat that impressive time!

Today has been a great day, I have seen from businesses who visited our stand how we directly affect their performance in the international market. That being said, my main take away from exhibiting at an event is to wear flat shoes and to stay away from all the sweets on offer!

Tomorrow Kristine Berry, Strategic Sales and Account Director, is presenting “Going Global – Going Above And Beyond”. Come visit our stand tomorrow to find out why your business could benefit from translation and localisation services. We are located beside the UKTI seating area and our stand is W282.
