What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

Managing the development of IT solutions within Capita TI, which includes the additions and changes we make to the Capita Linguist Portal (CLP) such as the Daily Digest Email. It’s also me that takes the site down for maintenance from time-to-time!

What is the most enjoyable part of your role?

I really enjoy finding innovative solutions to problems however, the most enjoyable part of my role, has to be the time I spend with the people I work with. They are great! I am lucky to work with such a good team!

What is the most challenging part of your role?

Finding appropriate technical solutions within a tight timescale!

Do you have job satisfaction?

Absolutely! I love the diversity of the work, the daily challenges and knowing that what I do makes a difference, not only to the people I work with, but our freelance interpreters too!

Why IT?

I have been tinkering with developing since I was 10 years old! I studied software Computer Science at both GCSE and A Level and then went on to university. That said, I did fail my GCSE French though!

Do you enjoy working for Capita TI?

Very much so, I have had a great deal of opportunity to develop and move forward in my role.

What about the future?

The future will be about looking at how we can improve our systems for both our freelance interpreters and our customers – after all – we want to be “best in class”!
