We’ve just returned from what can only be described as a fantastic gathering of WordPress wonders. WordCamp Manchester was this year hosted at the incredible Business School of Manchester Metropolitan University, and saw around 250 delegates gather to discuss all things WordPress.
Capita TI sponsored the breaks and after-party, so it was the ideal opportunity for us to catch people during the coffee breaks, to talk about localisation. Our translation connector (WordPress Connect) integrates with WordPress via WPML, and it makes the translation process much easier, as it eradicates the need for manual copying and pasting of completed translations.
The speakers throughout the day were super insightful, with our favourites being Tim Nash of 34SP giving us some security tips, Mark Wilkinson of Highrise Digital talking about CMS plugins, and Richard Carter of Peacock Carter talking about WordPress and the NHS. Our very own Business Development Manager, Wendy, even got up to speak about our SmartMATE WordPress Connect integrator, and we were thrilled with the influx of people who came to speak to us after the event about this very tool.
We were very impressed with the number of people who scored top marks on our translation quiz! If you missed it on the day, it’s not too late to take the quiz now…
From there it was on to the after-party, hosted at Black Dog Ballroom on Oxford Road. The room was packed out, and the conversations around WordPress continued long into the early hours.
We captured lots of our guests on camera (with our translation speech-bubbles and Instagram frame), so why not head to our Facebook page to view our photo gallery?
We can’t wait for the next WordCamp event, due to take place in London in April 2018. If we don’t speak to you before, we hope to catch you there!
