Business travel: keep Europe moving

No matter what the outcome of the recent referendum, there is no denying that Europe is home to some of the world’s largest business travel destinations.

With thousands of business travellers passing through airport gates every day, at Capita we make it our business to support their business. Whether it is booking a travel journey or hotel through Capita Travel and events, or translation for their multilingual customer base from Capita Translation and interpreting, we’re proud to support local, European and national businesses and their individuals.

Business travel facts

Frankfurt in Germany and the Dutch capital, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, are 2 of the busiest, serving 297 and 296 destinations, respectively.

London-based Heathrow Airport sees a plane take off every 45 seconds, carrying a total of 73million passengers a year.

The increase in business travel in recent years has also sparked new technologies and innovations – Madrid Airport boasts the longest driverless transit system on the continent, and Paris CDG was home to the world’s only supersonic plane.

Our sister company Capita Travel and events have created the below infographic, with facts and figures of the 5 busiest European airports.
